I read this in about an hour and it made my day.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I got bored and the book was due back at the library, so I gave up and turned it in without finishing it. I don't know if I'll ever come back to it--it was getting really annoying.
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies
I feel like it's a big accomplishment that I've finished this book because I don't typically read non-fiction, and I haven't successfully finished too many non-fiction books. But now that I've found some that look interesting, maybe that will change. This was a very interesting read. It's a book I've wanted to read for a long time because the topic interested me. I thought it was very interesting to learn about what kinds of resources were available in different areas of the world and how that affected the ability of societies to become more powerful, and also how the geography affected the ability of ideas and resources like plants and domesticable animals to spread.
Enna Burning
This is the sequel to The Goose Girl. Same issues with awkward dialogue and writing, but the plot is very intriguing. I actually thought it was very inspiring. There were some great lessons about forgiveness, repentance, overcoming weaknesses, and resisting temptation. And I thought the story was very original and interesting.
A Swiftly Tilting Planet
For some reason I couldn't put this book down. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was interesting to see how all the descendants of Madoc were related and I loved the suggestion that we are all connected and our choices can have a big impact.
A Wind in the Door
This is the sequel to A Wrinkle in Time. I loved it. There are some great lessons to be learned about the worth of a soul.
Jane Eyre
I read this in seventh grade and really liked it then. Now that I'm older and married I understand it even better and I loved it even more. I thought the ending was so romantic. This is a really great piece of writing and gave me a lot to think about.
A Wrinkle in Time
Everybody should read this book.
Tom Sawyer
I think I would have enjoyed this more when I was younger.

If you have never read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, do it!
